Some of the best perks of premium travel rewards credit cards go beyond the miles or points you earn with each purchase. Some cards open the doors to exclusive airport travel lounges and partner with global airlines to give you maximum flexibility for travel purchases.

American Express has long offered its Centurion Airport Lounges as a perk for carrying the The Platinum Card® from American Express, and now Capital One follows suit with an airport lounge network of its own.

But there's only one way to get unlimited access for free: card membership.

What Are the Perks of Capital One Lounges?

Capital One Lounges offer eligible patrons complimentary access to a wide-variety of services and amenities when they visit an airport lounge.

  • coffee bar
  • high-speed WiFi
  • grab-and-go food
  • full bar
  • dining stations
  • shower suite
  • nursing room
  • luggage lockers
  • cycling and yoga room
  • relaxation room
  • multi-faith room
  • meeting room

In addition to these premium perks, airport lounges offer weary travelers an opportunity to relax and recharge outside of the busy and all-too-crowded terminals. Many lounges feature local art, cushy chairs and a peaceful atmosphere.

Overview

The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card offers a lot of value to beginner and expert travelers alike. The card’s big upfront bonus and high ongoing rewards rate aren’t easy to beat, making it a solid option for a large audience. Where it really shines, though, is with the redemption process. When it comes to travel credit cards, it can be really challenging to find a way to use your rewards in the way you want.

With hotel and airline credit cards, for instance, you’re basically stuck redeeming your points or miles with the co-branded hotel or airline partner. And with some general rewards programs, you might get less value if you use your points or miles to book a flight versus a rental car or hotel.

With the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, though, you’ll get a lot of flexibility. Here are some of the top redemption options that are available: redeem miles to cover past travel expenses, book travel through Capital One or transfer miles to any of Capital One’s multiple airline and hotel loyalty programs.

Lounge Locations

There is currently one Capital One Lounge open in Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport with two more locations in Denver, Colorado and Washington, DC scheduled to debut sometime in 2023.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DSW)

The lounge is located in Terminal D near Gate 22 and includes partnerships with area artists, breweries, coffee roasters and cocktail bars.

It also boasts amenities like a cycling and yoga room, shower suite, relaxation rooms, secure lockers and working spaces.

Denver International Airport (DEN)

The new Capital One airport lounge will be a welcome addition for those who frequent the Mile High City.

The 11,200 square foot space is underway on the mezzanine level in Concourse A and will include food and beverage options such as small bites, handcrafted beverages and grab-and-go options.

The future menu features healthy choices, vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options and a fully-stocked bar complete with local and regional beers and wines, as well as international favorites.

The lounge is designed for professionals looking for a quiet place to work, families wanting big tables to spread out and business travelers who want a quick shower on the way to a meeting.

Dulles International Airport (IAD) in Washington, D.C.

Capital One will also debut an airport lounge location at Dulles International Airport in the Washington, D.C. area scheduled to open in 2023.

However, details about the Washington, D.C. lounge have yet to be released

Does Priority Pass Get You into Capital One Lounges?

Capital One's lounge network is not affiliated with Priority Pass, and, as such, Priority Pass holders will have to purchase admission at the rate of $65 per visit.

However, if you're curious about lounges offered by both Priority Pass and Capital One, the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card features unlimited access to both airport lounge networks as a benefit of card ownership.
